Fishnets for Work and Play

Fishnet stockings have had a long association with the boudoir, but slowly, over the last twelve months they have gained a certain respectability outside of the bedroom.

What started as a trend to wear fishnet tights with denim has filtered through to luxury wear.  Now, we are seeing a huge rise in, not only the styles being produced by luxury brands (such as Gerbe of Paris), but also the demand from ladies for fishnets to accompany a more classical outfit.

Whilst tights are very popular due to the ease in which they can be worn, and also the fact they can be matched with short skirts (as well as under ripped denim jeans), the demand for fishnet stockings and hold ups has also increased more than at any time in the last ten years.

For workwear, there is an increasing uptake for the 'fine fishnet' style of hosiery - essentially, a very small fishnet.  Again, this has a huge following with ladies wanting to add a touch of classical elegance to their outfit, and is very popular with our French clients.  Nothing looks more chic than fine fishnet hosiery combined with a pencil skirt and heels.

Although fishnets are often thought of as black in colour, the demand has increased so much that it is now possible to find almost any colour, including various shades of nude, ivory, white, navy, or indeed, black.  The styling also includes standard fishnets, seamed fishnets, lace topped, plain topped, miniature fishnet, large fishnet, and also your choice of designers from Italy, France, Austria or Germany... it is endless.

When selecting the fishnets, I decided that our policy of classical elegance should be the deciding factor, and I hope you agree that combined with a dress, skirt, or even trousers, fishnets can add a touch of glamour to your outfit.
